He also denounced the attack on the La Saline sub-police station on Sunday 6 June.
Léon Charles calls on all law enforcement officers to mobilize in order to defend themselves and protect the population against the murderous assaults of bandits. He said that police will be deployed on the Martissant/Mariani highway and will be present in the streets to allow the population to go about their daily activities serenely.
Reacting to the attacks, Justice Minister Rockefeller Vincent said, “I learned with dismay of the assassination of Divisional Inspector Adolphe Myradel yesterday at the Drouillard Police station in full swing. I extend my condolences to his family and to his brothers in arms. This crime will not go unpunished. The DG of the PNH was formally instructed to take all legal steps to strengthen the police stations and put the gangs out of harm’s way […]”
For its part, the Office for the Protection of the Citizen deplores the fact that police stations and sub-police stations are the target of bandits against police officers lacking adequate equipment to defend themselves against this type of criminals.
