D-3 Closure of the referendum register

Friday April 23, Richardson Dumel, Communication Director of the Provisional Electoral Council, announces the closure of the referendum register on Monday April 26 at midnight. Inviting citizens to start the process of obtaining their national identification card, in order to participate in the referendum.

A weapons trafficker arrested

On Saturday, Kesny Exantus actively wanted for trafficking of weapons and ammunition, as part of a seizure made at Port Lafito on Thursday April 22, was arrested by agents of the Narcotics Trafficking Brigade (BLTS). He is currently in custody at the Central Directorate of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) for legal consequences.

On the evening of April 24, during an operation led by the Parquet des Cayes and the Haitian National Police (PNH) in the communes of Torbeck, Chantal and Cavaillon, 7 individuals belonging to a gang were arrested. Weapons and ammunition were seized.

ANARSE grants concession to Sigora Haiti

The National Regulatory Authority of the Energy Sector (ANARSE) informs the Bidders that after the evaluation of the bids received, the Provisional Award for the regional electricity network of the North-East is Sigora Haiti (Head of a Group made up of JCM Power Corporation (Canada) and FMO). The concession covers the following communes : Quartier Morin, Limonade, Trou du Nord, Caracol, Sainte Suzanne, Terrier Rouge, Ferrier, Fort-Liberté, Ouanaminthe, Grand Bassin and Perches.

Japan funds a Community Center

As part of the project to strengthen the capacities and resilience of communities in the event of natural disasters “Peace Winds Japan”, a Japanese NGO has inaugurated a Community Center in the Department of South, funded by the Japanese Government.
