Pétion-ville shooting, 4 dead

Monday February 19, 2024, in the morning, 4 lifeless bodies were discovered, in the locality of Bouc-Champagne, in the commune of Pétion-ville. The victims were killed in a shooting that occurred the previous evening.

The bandits control the Terre Rouge Police Station

The Terre Rouge Police Station (Centre Dept.) is under the control of the gang in the area after attacking it on Sunday afternoon and chasing away the police officers. The gang controls the entire Fonds Cheval area and the national road.

Arrest of a ransom collector

The Haitian National Police (PNH) arrested Jean-Pierre James (40), residing at 3rd Avenue Bolosse (Port-au-Prince). According to information available to the Police, James Jean-Pierre was responsible for receiving ransoms for gangs operating in the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince, either from the drivers or from the merchants.

Taiwan : Distribution of sports kits

The Haitian National Sports Observatory (ONASH), thanks to the support of the Embassy of Taiwan (Republic of China) in Haiti, distributed sports kits to more than fifty trainers.

17 technicians certified in marine meteorology

Monday, February 19, 17 Haitian technicians obtained their training certificates in meteorological observations for navigation. An initiative carried out through the Crews Initiative Project, in collaboration with Haiti Hydro Meteorological Unit (UHM and Ofnac, supported by United Nations Development Program – Haiti & World Meteorological Organization.

PAM : Temporary suspension of its activities

Temporary suspension of humanitarian aid activities of the World Food Program (WFP) in sensitive areas. More than 370,000 people did not benefit from the food aid provided by the organization at the beginning of February because of armed gangs making roads inaccessible.
