iciHaiti - Agriculture : Competition for the best cocoa-based Creole gardens

The 2nd edition of the annual competition for the best “Creole cocoa-based gardens” at Ayitika’s farm in Torbeck saw the participation of 700 producers from the South, 55 finalists and 16 award-winning producers this year.

A great recognition of their commitment to sustainable and resilient practices.

Supported by several technical and financial partners, this activity is part of the project to support sustainable sectors and the sustainable development of watersheds in southern Haiti, funded by the French Development Agency (AFD).

It should be noted that this project, managed by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP-Haiti), this project with AFD is currently supporting 316 producers in the South in the installation of cocoa-based agroforestry plots.

The organizers say bravo to the winners and to all participating producers, to Ayitika SA, Agronomists and Veterinarians Without Borders, the South Departmental Directorate of the Haiti Ministry of Agriculture, local representatives and artists.
