iciHaiti - COVID : All Haitians living in the DR, with a fixed address can be vaccinated

On Saturday, during a visit to vaccination centers in the La Ciénaga sector of the National District, the Dominican Minister of Health, Daniel Rivera, declared that anyone with a fixed address, whether Dominican or foreign residing in country, can be vaccinated whether or not the person has identity documents.

“Everyone, even if they do not have the papers, if they have a permanent address, the Provincial Directorate of Health will locate them and there, they will be vaccinated” the Minister stressed that there were enough vaccines for Dominicans and foreigners living in the country regardless of their migratory situation and not only Haitians but all other nationalities. Stressing that the only concern was the number of Haitians living in Dominican territory

Let’s recall that this is a about-face of the Dominican Government whereas in January 2021, President Abinader had declared “[…] foreigners in an irregular migratory situation on the Dominican territory will not be vaccinated against the Covid-19 with the doses of vaccines purchased by the Dominican Government[…]”
