Valérie Plante, the mayor of Montreal, recently awarded the title of “honorary citizen” to Mrs. Marjorie Villefranche, General Manager of “La Maison d’Haïti” (since 1975), to testify to her exceptional contribution to inclusion and Montreal’s diversity.
“A leading actor in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough, Marjorie Villefranche is an exceptional woman who works tirelessly for the well-being of our community, to forge links of social solidarity and fight against all forms of discrimination.
As General Director of the Maison d’Haïti, she is involved body and soul for the education and integration of immigrant individuals and families, as well as for the creation and development of close links with the society of Home. In order to thank her for her exemplary work and her commitment to inclusion and diversity in Montreal, I am proud to award her, on behalf of the City of Montreal, the title of Honorary Citizen,” declared Mayor Valérie Plant during the ceremony.
