Faced with the resurgence of cases of theft of electricity Rockefeller Vincent, the Minister of Justice instructs in a circular all the Government Commissioners at the Courts of First Instance of the Republic of new measures :
Circular :
“The Minister of Justice and Public Security, to follow up on the formal request of the Director General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) seeking to face the difficulties related to the resurgence of cases of theft of electricity, urges you, on the basis of the 2016 decree on the electrical energy sector, to support, on the one hand, anti-fraud teams, in order to combat electricity theft and, on the other hand, those responsible for disconnecting subscribers in an irregular situation, during EDH operations.
It is also imperative to have a Justice of the Peace accompany you, in his capacity as Judicial Police Officer, during these support operations.
In the certainty of your usual loyal collaboration, the Minister of Justice and Public Security requires that you submit a detailed report each time you intervene in the field in such circumstances.”
