What the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse means for the Haitian people according to Gary Bodeau, former President of the Chamber of Deputies:
“First we say that these a ferocious assassination is the assassination of a political project, it is the assassination of an economic project, it is the assassination of the flagship of the movement for the emancipation of the underprivileged masses.
Because let’s not forget, when I was President of the Chamber of Deputies I had many disagreements with the President […] he was a difficult but sincere man, he was a man who believed in his convictions, he was a man who believed in the emancipation of the masses, he was a person who believed that State money should serve the people, he was a person who believed there had to be a better distribution of national wealth.
