iciHaiti - UNESCO : Dominican plastic artist Michelle Ricardo in artistic residency at the Art Center

As part of the project “Implementation of a network for the creation and dissemination of Caribbean art” the Art Center, in partnership with UNESCO which finances this project, welcomes the visual artist Michelle Ricardo, originally from the Dominican Republic, arrived in Haiti, where she will be in artistic residency from June 29 to July 15, 2021.

This residency will be for Michelle Ricardo an opportunity to work on her performance techniques and to collaborate with the local community, more specifically Haitian women, in order to explore the concept “Potomitan” in connection with the theme of the residency “The role of women in the construction of the Caribbean”.

Michelle Ricardo was born in the Dominican Republic. Visual artist, poet, social activist/educator and cultural manager, she is a graduate of the Altos de Chavon School of Art and Design and the National School of Fine Arts in Mexico City.
