PNH : Kidnapping foiled
Tuesday May 7, 2024, a patrol of the Haitian National Police (PNH) foiled a kidnapping attempt on Rue Marcelin in downtown Port-au-Prince. During the police intervention, two of the kidnappers were fatally injured in the exchange of fire, 2 other accomplices managed to escape. The victim is safe and sound.
The USA sends materials for the construction of the Mission base
On Monday, an American C-17 military plane landed at Toussaint Louverture International Airport, carrying materials intended for the construction of the base for the Multinational Security Support Mission (MMSS) which should begin arriving here the end of May.
The former PM Lapin urges the members of the CPT
Former Prime Minister a.i. Jean Michel Lapin urges the members of the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) to limit their actions to the restoration of security, constitutional reform and the organization of elections. He warns them against any idea of embarking on projects that do not concern their mission.
Submission of candidate files for the position of PM

The mandates of the CSC/CA advisors have ended
Tuesday, May 7, 2024, marked the end of the mandate of the advisors of the Superior Court of Auditors and Administrative Litigation (CSC/CA). The Citizen Observatory for Transparency urges the Presidential Transitional Council (CPT) to renew the mandates of administrative judges in order to avoid any dysfunction of the CSC/CA and avoid an institutional vacuum which could harm the fight against corruption in the Public administration.
The Spanish Embassy is operating normally
The Embassy of Spain in Haiti informs that it is open to the public and all its consular services (including the visa service) are operating normally.
